Lippold`s end
retold and drawn by Eugen Gliege
Finally the dvil must have made it, so some people claim, and got the Lippold. Next to the old castle in Friesack Lippold had got his courtyard. In the beginning of the 19th century it was pulled down and the stones were even for a long time. Then Lippold sat in court. As the time was over Lippel sat at a table in the room and writes. He put a guard in front of the door that he does not let somebody in by death penalty.
Now the devil comes and wants to get in. The guardsman does not allow that. So the devil says he is going to break his neck if he does not let him enter. So he goes by andopened the door.
Suddenly there is a bad scream in the room and as the servants come there is nothing but the cloths of Lippold. They lay on the floor and right above them is a big blood stain. And as often as they painted that stain it stays as it was. "My mother`s sister", says the story teller, " was a servant at that house and saw him. I would not have believed it myself if she did not tell it!"
