Shining example in Brandenburg
At the age of 54 the electorical court doctor Albrecht Daniel Thaer had worked for the Prussians. Some years ago the scholar working as a farmer with his "Introduction for knowledge of the English agriculture" became an international authority as a agrarian scientist.
His model landscape in Celle had attracted a lot of visitors.
Supported by Friedrich der Große Thaer founded the first agricultural academy of Germany in Moeglin in 1806. During his life Thaer published about 400 agricultural works.
The experimental work of Thaer has still been an example of the farmers of Brandenburg.
