The coat of armer of Friesack is a castle with a high red pewter wall and a closed silver gate between two high tinned silver round steeples with blue dome-shaped roofs and knobs. On the wall between the steeples there is a left-sighted black eagle with gold armer. The castle is on a silver ground above blue water. In the water three silver fishes swim.
The coat of armerof Friesack goes back to the former castle. Water and fishes show the situation of the town at Rhin. The time of origin of the coat of armer is unknown.
As the main place of the area Friesack the town had got a castle of the lords of Friesack since the middle of the 12th century that raised to a high noble position at the end of the 13th century until their end. Since 1318 the castle by margravial sovereign and rulers of Brandenburg had been owend by noble lords of the manor. The town that came into being stayed subjugated as "Mediatstadt" the lords of the manor. The people lived by farming and plot of peat. In 1841 there was2732 inhabitants. The rail connection to Berlin and Hamburg had no big influence on business life in 1846.
