Potato Order

In Brandenburg-Preußen there it was needed a royal word to introduce the potato. In 1756 Friedrich Der Große passed the famous "potato order" , that the farmers should be forced to grow the potato. The keeping of the orders was strictly controlled.

12 years ago the old Fritz had tried to break the reluctance of the farmers. Within a landwide campagne he let the potato dish out for free. But without any success.
