The pig dying in Gohlitz
retold and drawn by Eugen Gliege

Once upon a time there had often been an inexplicable pig dying on a farm in Gohlitz. Although all the other farmers had healthy pigs and livestocks the pigs and piglets died in this pigsty. The farmer was that despaired sothat he died for sorrow and grief.

The son inherited the farm and let the pigsty pulled down. As one layed the foundation underneath the old stable wall a skull was found. Nobody knew where the skull had been from. The stable was finished and new pigs were breeded. The big pig dying was over since then. Everybody believed that it was the fault of the cursed skull that the pigs died and that could have been the work of a wicked witch.
