retold and drawn by Eugen Gliege

From the old times of the heathen the name "Frau Harke" (Mrs Rake) comes from, and so many saga are tied on her name. There she appears as a huge giant and magician which is quite hostile to christian churches especially, soon with her old heathen character as well as Wode or Frick are connected with wild hunting.

Once upon a time in the mountains of Stˆllen shall have lived a mighty female giant whose name was Mrs Rake. She shall have taken a big stone and tried to demolish the cathedral of Havelberg.

This stone droped out of her hands on the Feldmark of Stˆllen where it is even today. You can still see the hole from her fingerprints.

Another stone she should have thrown on Havelberg which droped almost in front of the cathedral where he has been seen for a long time. The bishop of Havelberg had taken another stone and had thrown it to the mountains of Stˆllen. Since then Mrs Rake, who is told to be a mighty magician, vanished forever.
